I had stories in my head and in my heart but it wasn’t until 1996 that I decided to try my hand at writing my own romance novel. I still have that book—and when I need a good laugh, I pull it out and read it. It really is bad. Fortunately, I was smart enough to join a writing group of like-minded souls—Romance Writers of America®—and eight years and several more manuscripts later, in early 2004, I sold a book to Berkley Publishing.
