Barb Warner Deane has sold her first romance novel, Killing Her Softly, a romantic suspense, to The Wild Rose Press. It is due out in summer/fall of 2017.
Erica O’Rourke’s “Time of Death,” a Stillwater General Mystery written under her pen name Lucy Kerr, will be published by Crooked Lane Books on December 13, 2016.
Sarah Anderson has won a RITA award from Romance Writers of America for “The Nanny Plan.”
Kelly Duff placed second in the Kiss of Death RWA chapter’s Daphne du Maurier Awards for “Tame My Racing Heart.”
CJ Warrant’s debut novel, “Forgetting Jane,” comes out on June 29.
“Under Your Skin,” the first in Shannyn Schroeder’s “For Your Love” series, releases on June 28.

Marilyn Brant has released a novella, “All About Us,” and “The Road and Beyond,” an expanded book club edition of her romantic mystery “The Road to You.”
Sonali Dev’s debut novel, “A Bollywood Affair,” has been released by Kensington Publishing. “Her Best Shot” and “Her Winning Game,” books 1 and 2 in Shannyn Schroeder’s Hot and Nerdy trilogy, have been released, and the third book, “Her Winning Formula,” is scheduled for release on November 24.
“Morningstar,” the second book in Robyn Bachar’s space opera romance trilogy, has been released by Samhain Publishing.
Heating It Up, One Hero at a Time, an anthology of seven sensual historical romance novels to be released November 14, includes “The Captain’s Temptress” by Averil Reisman.
Emma Gates, award-winning author of Praying for Rain and three other novels, will read from her books and discuss the writing craft at 7 p.m. on September 30 at the Oak Park Library, 834 Lake St., Oak Park.
Morgan Mandel has released the novella “A Perfect Angel,” a sequel to “Her Handyman.”
Elizabeth Harmon has sold Falling Hard, a romance featuring figure skating champions, to Carina Press in a three-book deal. Falling Hard is slated for release in February, 2015.
Gretchen Friel has been shortlisted for the Fish Poetry Prize.
Emma Gates has published four books this spring through independent publisher Wells Street Press: Detours, Private Lines, Walking to Israel and Praying for Rain. Her romances feature Americans interacting with people from different countries.

Tracie Ingersoll Loy’s Deep Into the Night, the second in her Hartz Island romantic suspense series, has been released by Musa Publishing.
Clara Kensie will debut as the first Harlequin Teen author to release her book as a serial. Book 1 of “Run to You,” a romantic paranormal thriller, will run as a three-part serial with weekly releases starting February 1, 2014, and Book Two, also in three parts, will start in June, 2014.
Averil Reisman’s Gilded Age historical, “To Cuba With Love,” is now available in both ebook and print format. This is her first published book.
Blythe Gifford has sold “Whispers at Court” to Harlequin. It’s the second in her Royal Wedding series, set in the court of King Edward III of England in the 14th century. The first in the series, “Secrets at Court,” is set for March, 2014 release.
Melonie Johnson’s “To Catch a Fetch” has captured first place in the paranormal category of the Indiana Golden Opportunity contest, sponsored by the Indiana Romance Writers of America. Elizabeth Harmon came in second in the contemporary romance category with “Falling Hard.”
Jennifer Ann Coffeen’s A Deal With Lord Devlin has been released by Wild Rose Press.
Sherrill Bodine and Patricia Rosemoor will hold a digital launch party for their new romance, “Written in the Stars,” on September 10.
Geneva Rand’s “Bittersweet” won third place in the Single Title contemporary romance category of the Georgia Romance Writers’ Maggie awards for unpublished manuscripts.
Carrie Lofty has three books being released under two pen names. Caged Warrior and Blood Warrior, both written under her pen name of Lindsey Piper, have release dates of June 28 and July 30, respectively. Chains and Canes, written under the name of Katie Porter, was released on July 9.
Barbara Weitz’s contemporary romance, Cutter Mountain Rendezvous, is a Maggie Awards finalist. The Maggies are sponsored by the Georgia Romance Writers.
Margaret Watson won two contests and finaled in a third. The Woman He Knows won the Golden Quill Award, and A Safe Place won the Award of Excellence and was an Award of Merit winner in the Holt Medallion.
Ryann Murphy’s contemporary romance, Resist Me, has finaled in the Connecticut RWA chapter’s “Write Stuff” contest and in the Northeast Ohio Romance Writers of America “Cleveland Rocks” contest.
Sonali Dev has sold two books to Kensington for November 2015 release.
The May Romance Writers Report includes an article by Elizabeth Harmon on world building. It features several Chicago-North members.
Wild Rose Press has set an August 14, 2013 release date for Jennifer Ann Coffeen’s novella, A Deal With Lord Devlin.
